Meet Maria Valenzuela

Tell us a little bit about you and your own fitness journey.

I began weight lifting 7 years ago and immediately fell in love with it. I became a certified personal trainer shortly after. Since then I have almost consistently kept up with my 5-6 days/week workouts.

Do you have a philosophy or approach to how you train your clients?

I focus on educating my clients. I inform them on what muscles each exercise targets. They have access to all of their workouts so they know their entire history and also have a plan to do on their own.

How have you seen personal training improve the lives of your clients?

Absolutely. Usually just after a month of two they feel a difference in their every day lives. After a few months they see physically differences in their appearance.

What advice would you give to someone who is discouraged with their fitness journey?

It is never too late to start. Any movement is better than no movement. It is okay to take things slow and work your way up.

What is your favorite part about being a personal trainer?

Being able to use my love of fitness and knowledge to enhance someone else’s life.

What kinds of things do you enjoy doing in your free time?

I enjoy weight lifting, walking, baking, and reading.
