We all know that cardio exercise is important for our overall health. The Department of Health and Human Services recommends at least 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity. At Beechmont Racquet and Fitness, we have some the best and most unique cardio equipment settings to help you meet and exceed these recommendations!
Cardio Movie Room
A unique feature at our facility is our Cardio Movie Room, a truly state of the art venue that offers our members the opportunity to get a great cardio workout while being entertained with the latest movie releases and classic favorites. Our large screen and surround sound make you feel like you’re at the theater enjoying the latest hit movie – except instead of popcorn and an easy chair, you’re getting in your workout! Movie selections change often. Check our Facebook feeds for the latest schedule.
The Landing
At The Landing, members work out in front of a row of televisions suspended from the ceiling, all displaying different TV shows. Plug headphones into your cardio machine of choice and select the audio for the show you want to watch. Not in the mood for what’s showing? You can also choose to listen to your favorite radio station.
Individualized Televisions
We also have a cardio area where members get their own individual 15” LCD monitor to enjoy at each machine. Simply plug in your headphones and channel surf to find the program you like.
Jogging Track
Our indoor jogging track (9.3 laps = one mile) provides an excellent place to get your run or walk in rain or shine. Our cushioned track is far from boring, featuring inclines/declines and winding around our pool and gym for a variety of views. The track is also a great place for walkers to meet their friends for a group workout.
Lap Pool
Whether you’re looking to swim laps or doing an aerobic workout, our lap pool is a great place to burn calories and raise your heart rate with little to no impact on your joints. Water workouts provide total body conditioning, optimizing cross training. Set at about 82 degrees year-round, our pool is the ideal place for a refreshing cardio workout.

Cardio Tip:
“Get out there and challenge yourself to be more active! Try to discover which kind of cardio YOU enjoy doing. There are many options to choose from: elliptical, stairclimber, rowing, etc. Your body adapts to repetitive movements so make sure to add some cardio in the mix. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t have an elliptical or other equipment–walking stairs or jumping rope in intervals will also get your heart rate up! ENJOY your HEART conditioning!”
