Sandy Foster is a fun-loving, kind, and hard-working woman who inspires everyone around her. She is also an incredible success story here at Beechmont Racquet & Fitness.
When Sandy first walked through our doors a few years ago, she was like so many of us. She wanted to feel better, get moving again, and leave behind the constant cycle of starting over. She enjoyed popping into pickleball games and attending bike classes now and then, but deep down, she was ready for more. She was tired of the aches and pains that came from sitting all day at work and knew it was time to take her wellness into her own hands.
That is when Tammy stepped in. In November, Sandy told her, “I’ll be ready in the New Year.” And she meant it. In January, she scheduled her Smart Start, and everything changed.
Tammy took the time to truly listen to Sandy—her needs, her frustrations, and her goals. She built a personalized wellness team just for her. Tammy connected Sandy with Kim for Personal Training and PNF Stretching, and with Matt, our registered dietitian, for nutrition coaching.
From the very beginning, Sandy felt the difference. Just a few PNF stretching sessions with Kim brought noticeable relief to her knees and ankles. With Kim’s expert guidance, Sandy began training twice a week, building strength and confidence one movement at a time. Kim tailored every workout to fit Sandy’s body and goals, focusing on form, progress, and strength. The day Sandy proudly held a full plank was a celebration of how far she had come.
And it was not just about movement. Matt sat down with Sandy and listened. He did not hand her a strict diet or overwhelm her with information. Instead, he started where she was, beginning with breakfast. He shared recipe ideas, small changes, and simple wins. Together, they built a new way of eating, one meal at a time. With Matt’s support, Sandy found foods she loved and learned to fuel her body in a way that felt good and sustainable.
