Every August, Cincinnati becomes the focus of the tennis world, when the top men’s and women’s players like Roger Federer, Andy Murray, Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova come to town to compete in the Western & Southern Open, scheduled this year for August 15-23.

Cincinnati’s tennis roots run deep: The Western & Southern Open is the nation’s oldest professional tennis tournament still played played in its city of origin. First played in 1899 on the current site of Xavier University, the Open has been a fixture in the Queen City for more than a century.

Like Cincinnati, our tennis roots run deep at Beechmont Racquet & Fitness. Since our founding more than 30 years ago, our club has played a leading role in the Cincinnati tennis community. We have great opportunities for any player of any skill set including beginners, juniors and more advanced levels. The quality, diversity and affordability of our programs set the standard by which other clubs are measured. We offer a wide variety of competitive, recreational and instructional opportunities and have eight of the best tennis courts in the area available to our members.

Juniors Programs

Our junior tennis program offers instructional tennis for ages four and up at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Four of our courts are painted with the USTA’s QuickStart lines. Our professional staff includes current and former high school and college team coaches who work with true beginners to nationally ranked players and every level in between.

Adult Programs

Our adult tennis programs allow adults of all skill levels to compete and play in a vibrant setting. We offer something for everyone from beginners to the casual player and those looking for a more competitive program.

Private and semi-private lessons are available to those looking to learn the game or sharpen their skills. Beginner clinics let novice players practice their skills on the court. Instructional Round Robins provide the opportunity to learn and practice with a little bit of competition. For more competitive players, we offer in-house leagues for men and women.

Staff

At Beechmont Racquet and Fitness, we are firm believers that the success of our tennis program is largely due to the experience, professionalism, and enthusiasm of our Tennis Department staff. Led by Head Pro Geoff Crawford, our teaching professionals have decades of playing and coaching experience at all levels from junior to college. Check out their detailed bios here.

If the Western & Southern Open has gotten you excited about tennis for the first time or for the first time in awhile, we have the perfect program for you! We hope to see you soon on our courts!
